Suzuki Hyabusa Titanium axle set
This was a big job, titanium front, rear and swinging arm spindles, engine mounting bolts and furniture for a Suzuki Hyabusa. They are big shafts to turn, that was the easy bit, boring them hollow was when the fun started! The rear is bored 23mm dia x 300 mm deep all from one end. The swinging arm was actually harder to bore as its a smaller diameter hole, i find the bigger the drill the easier it will stay on track without running off, its harder to push through but less stressful!

The engine mounting bolts were the most challenging to make, they are borderline undo-able on my machinery. The longest one is well in excess of 300mm so getting the shaft down to size was very difficult. Its not perfect but it will work OK. To add to the joy they are drilled 1/4″ all the way through!
I’ll post the frame inserts and nuts etc in the next blog.
