To go with the 7075 alloy head stem i made last week for a Suzuki DR 650 i’ve also made the front wheel axle, swinging arm pin, suspension mounting bolts and engine mounting bolts. The swinging arm axle, engine mounting bolts and the shorter suspension bolt are made as studs, the long suspension bolt is as OEM as it screws […]
My customer needed extended bump stops for his front forks on the AJS 7R, these are what i’ve made: They are drilled up from the bottom for lightness.
To go with the Matchless G50 7075 alloy head stems my customer also wanted one for one of his AJS 7R’s. He’s had a magnesium bottom yoke cast up. This made making it not quite as straight forward as the G50 ones as the hole through the yoke is a lot smaller than the bearing size, but i still machined […]
Here’s a couple of 7075 alloy bolts for the G50. Although they are 5/16 UNF threads they have a Whitworth head size to suit a 1/4 Whit spanner.
I’ve made a brace and a third of 7075 alloy steering heads stem for a Matchless G50. My customer has had a batch of alloy bottom yokes machined up so these stems are to fit them. They have also had some titanium steering head bearings made to use with them, i didn’t make the bearings, and they are about […]
Along with the oil cooler bolt below, my customer also wanted a set of exhaust nuts in 7075 alloy, and here they are…. They are M7 thread, i’ll be making the studs to go with them as well soon, they are M8 into the head and then M7 of course to accept the nuts.
I’m still on with a shed load of 7075 alloy parts. I want to do all the alloy work i have in so it can all go for coating as one batch. This is an oil cooler bolt for a Honda BR1000, its a direct copy of the HRC one, but weighs 80g less, the HRC is 130g and my […]
This is the final entry for the SP2/TDR head stem and steering head furniture, its a plug i’ve made to cover the top of the stem for the TDR/CRF head stem conversion. As the finished length of the new stem was hard to establish accurately without having the frame to fit it all in, i erred on the short side. […]
I seem to be repopulating the world with alloy head stems at the minute, here’s one for a Suzuki DR and then there are 5 more for AJS 7R’s that i’m on with making right now, so you’ll be sick of the sight of alloy before i’ve finished. Good job there’s lots more titanium parts coming up! So the […]
As part of the order for the 7075 alloy steering head stem for the Honda SP2 my customer also wanted a swinging arm pin and the large adjuster inserts that live in the frame. The adjuster pieces were not so straight forward to make as they have the large 21mm A/F hex socket in the end. Broaching the hex in […]
