7075 alloy Yamaha R1 Ohlins fork extensions
Here’s a pair of 7075 alloy Ohlins fork extension pieces i’ve just made for a racing R1. They give 30mm extension by replacing the original fork top assembly. They are machined to take the original damping preload mechanism which just need swapping from the old ones into these.

I had to make an index piece with an internal thread to try on the external threads so i could cut the depth right. The internal thread was very tricky as it needs to be full depth and i had to screw cut it. There is an undercut at the bottom for the threads ro run out into, but it was all very tight and presented a clear and present danger of crashing the tool into the bottom of the hole! but we managed without catastrophe.

’99 ZX9R – looking for 3″ extensions. Putting these forks on a 1987 Super Magna so not only are the forks shorter, so is the wheel. You do beautiful work.
Thanks,
John
