Making an M12x1.75 skt cap bolt
I thought i’d do a quick history of the making of a bolt, just so you can see what goes into one. Some customers gasp at the price of my bolts, but thats because they expect me to press a button and have a cup of tea whilst the machine spews out a few hundred, in reality I stand for an hour making one by hand, sure i use a lathe and a milling machine, but they are manual machines and i wouldn’t have it any other way. Titanium deserves to be turned by feel with lashings of care and love, and thats what i do.
So once you’ve faced off the bar it needs centre drilling:


















Its just that easy!

pete , love the real world way you make socket cap bolts very interesting , had an idea how you got the actual hexagon in it (breaching tool thing ) but fab to see how it’s actually done , you are bonkers but I totally think your dedication is tops.
