Kawasaki ZX10R titanium wheel axles and 7075 alloy swinging arm spindle

Here’s a set of spindles for a Kawasaki ZX10R, the wheel axles are titanium and the swinging arm spindle is 7075 alloy, coated with Surtek 650 for corrosion protection. I modified the rear spindle slightly, the shaft is 20mm but it has 18mm dia thread as standard, this meant that either i had to bore a 10mm hole all the way through or bore it 14mm all from the head end ending just short of the bottom of the threads. This wasn’t an option as the drill would have wandered badly over that length. So i bored it 14mm from both ends to meet in the middle then cut a 20mm thread instead of 18 and made a new 7075 alloy nut to suit.

The is no compromise on strength and makes for a lighter and better axle.
