Honda SP2 titanium wheel axles and 7075 alloy nut/bolt
Here’s a pair of titanium wheel spindles for a Honda SP2. I’ve done my usual modification on the head, the original extended beyond the fork leg and has a tommy bar hole through it to hold it whilst tightening the nut, my way is to finish the axle flush with the fork leg and broach a big hex in the end for an Allen key. The other modification i’ve made is to put a 25mm thread on the rear axle rather than the 20mm as standard, this means i can get a full diameter hole all the way through rather than step it down to go through the threads. It doesn’t affect the fittment but sure does make it easier and better to make, looks better too in my opinion. The rear axle nut and front axle bolt are 7075 alloy which is quite strong enough and lighter than titanium, costs less too!
