Kawasaki titanium and 7075 alloy parts
I’ve titled it Kawasaki but it could be Suzuki, I know my customer races both and i’m not sure which these are for. The crank bolt has a 1/16″ hole all the way through for oil control, that was fun to drill, at any given moment it was poised ready snap the drill, but time and patience wins out where titanium is concerned!
In theory the swinging arm bearing sleeves are not ideal in titanium unless they are coated, but based on my experience of the swinging arm pin on my Ducati, which i made in titanium, they do stand up to the movement of the bearings ok. For some reason titanium is outstanding for exposing the ever present ‘theory-practice gap’!
