Porche titanium caliper pins

Posted by on Aug 27, 2012 in News | 0 comments

Today i’ve made some brake caliper pad pins for a rather nice Porche. They were really tricky to do, had to turn down 7mm dia bar to 5.95mm for the fat bit, lots of deflection on bar so skinny, they were a labour of love! getting the two holes through was fun as well, 1mm dia, and i’m really chuffed with myself because i didn’t snap any! which is perhaps as well as i only had 1.

7075 alloy R1 oil cooler bolt and connector

Posted by on Aug 24, 2012 in News | 2 comments

I’m now offering the R1 oil cooler bolt and connector in 7075 alloy. These are hot off the machines so haven’t been anodised yet. As you can see it doesn’t weigh much compared to the original which weighs 147g – 106g lighter! In titanium it weighs 62g.   And the oil line connector: the original weighs 47g, so 30g lighter. The titanium one weighs 25g so in the middle.   and a front axle bolt: I don’t know the weight of the original but i’ve a feeling its more than 10g!

Tiny M6 titanium c/s screws

Posted by on Aug 17, 2012 in News | 0 comments

I’ve just finished making 12 tiny M6 countersunk screws. They are for a mini clutch, the original had M5 c/s screws with a very slim nut on the back, i’ve modified the back plate by tapping it out to M6 and made new titanium screws to replace the M5’s. It went magnificently well. Although they look big on the photo, cos i got really close to take the picture, they are pretty small, the heads are 11mm across with 3mm socket cap in them.
